A clear vision of life, that with gracious and kindly hearts we may share both joy and sorrow and bring into living reality the sisterhood of women. An appreciation of real merit and worth, steadfastness of soul, that without bitterness or defeat, we may encounter misfortune and with humility meet success.

The beloved Alpha Xi Delta Beta Xi chapter house at 322 5th Street was destroyed in a fire (ruled arson) on November 9, 2021. Since then, the Corporation Board has been working tirelessly to rebuild and restore our 168-year-old home to its former glory while embracing the opportunity to install modern amenities. Insurance allows for the majority of costs, but several large-ticket expenses are not covered, including the addition of an HVAC system and all furnishings, décor, and contents within the home.

With a total campaign goal of $250,000, we are estimating a minimum of $150,000 in costs directly associated with re-opening the house and another $100,000 to assist with lost revenue, to begin building a “rainy day” fund for the future, and to provide grants and scholarships to enhance the educational experience of our collegiate sisters.

Alumnae and friends are invited to support the rebuild efforts with a special gift, either directly to the Building Corporation or through the newly-created Foundation. Whatever you choose, your gift is significant and puts us one step closer to restoring and reopening our home. Together, we will encounter this misfortune and with humility meet success, ensuring that future generations of Beta Xi sisters have a place to learn, grow, and realize their potential.
